"Toilets Making the Grade" in Uganda und Pakistan

Date

At the beginning of this year, the second round of our school competition "Toilets Making the Grade" (TMG) started in Uganda and Pakistan. In Uganda, a total of 146 schools located in Kampala, Lira and Apac are competing to become TMG model schools this school year. In Pakistan, too, the competition is taking place in more than one province. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the 30 participating schools have already submitted their proposals on what measures they want to take to improve the school sanitation and hygiene. In Balochistan, 100 schools are invited to identify existing problems regarding school sanitation and to develop solutions.

In both countries, the competition is supported by the GIZ programme "Sanitation for Millions". In addition to this support, in Pakistan, the NGO Sabawon in Khyber Pakthunkhwa and in Balochistan the Balochistan Rural Support Programme are leading the implementation of TMG.
